Bad Bunny redefines concerts at scale — with Ticketera® and vivenu powering the experience

San Juan, Puerto Rico – April 28, 2025 – When global superstar Bad Bunny announced his 30-show residency in Puerto Rico, demand surged instantly. Leading the effort on the ground was Ticketera®, delivering a secure, high-volume on-sale that seamlessly blended offline access control with digital precision — powered by vivenu.
The result: a benchmark-setting success that pushed the boundaries of what’s possible in modern ticketing.
Scaling success through infrastructure and execution
Bad Bunny’s 30-show residency generated extraordinary demand, with digital traffic reaching over 1,000,000 requests per minute at its peak. Ticketera® successfully managed both on-site and online sales by leveraging its hybrid ticketing model — a feat only possible with a platform engineered for rapid adaptation to any use case you imagine.
On-site ticketing performance:
- 21,000+ unique codes distributed in eight hours
- Over 80,000 tickets sold on-site in the same time
Total on-sale impact:
- 400K+ tickets sold across 30 shows during the on-sale
- €35M+ in Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV)
- 1.8 million bot and scalper requests blocked in real time
- 100% uptime throughout the entire on-sale
- <250ms system response times, even under peak load
A Secure, Hybrid On-Sale Model
To ensure tickets for the first nine shows were available exclusively to Puerto Rico residents — and to prevent automated bulk purchases — a hybrid distribution model was implemented. Over 21,000 physical cards containing unique promotional codes were handed out across nine locations on the island, following on-site residency verification. Only those who received a verified card were granted access to the online sale.
vivenu’s open infrastructure enabled this model by providing real-time validation, full control, and reliable performance at every stage — from offline activation to digital checkout
A New Benchmark for High-Demand Ticketing
While other large-scale ticket sales have faced platform failures, long queues, and public backlash, this residency set a new standard: no downtime, no friction, and no compromises — powered by infrastructure built for performance, control, and scale.
“Being the ticketing platform responsible for selling the residency of the world’s number one artist was no easy task. We innovated, built logistics from the ground up — created in Puerto Rico for Puerto Ricans — and partnered with key players like vivenu, who were instrumental in helping us reach our goal,” said Manny Morales, Founder of Ticketera®.
This milestone underscores what’s possible when market-leading innovation, local expertise, and scalable infrastructure come together.
